Hello, hoping someone here has a tidy answer to a problem that I have struggled with almost the entire day. My HTPC (licensed CoreAVC Professional 1.9.5) has an NVIDIA 8600GT and is running Windows XP Pro / MCE. I use TheaterTek which leverages the machines codec stack to play HD (1080p) .m2ts files that contain DTS 7.1 audio streams. I use Dual View with a small monitor built into the case on the HTPC and a DVI connection to a Runco HD projector.

All has been reasonably well, except I have had some recent audio stuttering which had me investigate to see what I could to do resolve it (still looking). However, during the investigation I noticed that despite having the latest CUDA / Video drivers installed for my NVIDIA card the CoreAVC Decoder icon only becomes green if I play my video on the htpc screen and then only in a window rather than full screen mode. When I direct TheaterTek to route it's display to display 2 through dual view it of course does so at full screen. As a result it appears that whatever special condition is being set to cause CUDA to take over in a windowed mode doesn't happen and my CPU is running in the 50-77% range during HD playback. When I run it on the other screen in windowed mode and CoreAVC goes green, the CPU drops to around 5-11%.

I have always been very pleased with CoreAVC and would surely love to take advantage of the CUDA capability all the time. Is there a configuration or setup change which is necessary to cause CoreAVC to use CUDA whether it is in full screen or windowed?

Any and all help, advice and suggestions greatly appreciated!

Cheers!

Was discussed in another thread recently, it's an incompatability with MCE that we are trying to fix. As a workaround you should be able to start playing in windowed mode (to activate CUDA) and then switch to fullscreen.

Thanks for the update!

I switched to Zoomplayer Max 6.0 which allows me the same functionality and permits the player to run in fullscreen on my Runco (second monitor) and CoreAVC still uses CUDA. As I haven't lost any functionality by switching from TheaterTek to Zoom I am ok with this solution.
