All... We wanted to post answers to what people think what we support with Qualcomm's QTv in CorePlayer.

But first a statment: There are NO media players that support QTv in any form other then the ones shipped by the third hardware companies within the device (to date this is mostly HTC). So if they ship WMP in the device with GPU/SOC API access it is the 'ONLY' means for accessing those API's within that device.

Q: Does CorePlayer support Qualcomm's QTv?
A: We 'only' support hardware overlay in 'some' QTv chipset but not all of them.

Q: Does CorePlayer support devices like the Touch pro HD?
A: Yes, but see above in that we only support QTv overlay (if supported on the included QTv chipset)

Q: Are there any other media players that have tried to support QTv?
A: No. We are the only ones so far that have reverse engineered compatibility (for overlay only).

Q: Why do companies not open the API's (for example; Qualcomm's QTv)?
A: Good question and one we are working on behind the scenes here to try and make happen.

Q: Is CoreCodec expanding on the capabilities on CorePlayer 'QTv' support?
A: The plan is to fully support QTv at some point if possible. There are both legal and technical issues that we are addressing.

Q: How can CoreCodec support all devices with QTv/Snapdragon?
A: There is no way we can without the help of third parties like Qualcomm and their customers. However we are looking into adding directshow support into CorePlayer to possibly be able to support some of the devices with the built in filters.

Now let's hope that it will help clear things up a little bit and reduce the number of posts asking questions about QTv support. Second thing.
Are you planning on expanding the number of questions answered if some new come and will you try to keep the community posted about any progress done so the forum won't get flooded with questions about it?

Yes... I will expand on the QnA for sure. But I will limit comments to only remain for a few days to keep the 'sticky' clean, but will address each one posted.

Please how long will you make on the new chipset MSM7201A?
Will it play movies in the resulotion 800×480 and bitrate 2000kbps?
When PSP has 333~Mhz procesor and can smooth play movies in resolution 720×480 in H.264 codec and 1000kbps bitrate why can not devices with 528~Mhz procesor too? I hope, that can but are good drivers needed.

How is the work going? Can we expect full support of QTv on version 2.0?

"A: We 'only' support hardware overlay in 'some' QTv chipset but not all of them."

What are those "some" chipsets? For example, is MSM7600 included?

Welcome.

I'm a Toshiba G910 user (Qualcomm 7200 platform), and I'd like to as if it's possible to mod the driver for Kaiser (which is made using the same processor, and GPU) to work for us also? For now, If we're trying to choose the QTv driver it returns a black screen and audio only. Other modes are.. Unacceptable.. 3-5 FPS maximum for a video file at native resolution (800x480).. In my opinion the only difference between Kaiser and G910 is the resolution.. But I may be wrong :) In addition, the only OS available for Toshiba G910 is the WM 6.0 as I know..

Is there any chance that a proper mod will be released?

Best regards.
