Today we proud to release v1.2.5 of the CorePlayer Platform. This is mostly a bug fix and stability release for all platforms. But for QTv users we have now updated CP to work on the latest TYTN II/ KAISER WM 6.1 ROM. This also looks like it is going to be the last of of 1.2.x line as we have been hard at work on 1.3 for the past few months with our upcoming 'Channels', Progressive downloading support and our work on the upcoming iPhone release.

- FIX: Inconsistencies in the display of the time
- FIX: Don't prerotate almost square bitmaps
- FIX: Avoid treating an empty .pls file as .m3u
- FIX: Relative path handling in playlists
- FIX: HTTP long URL redirections (like YouTube)
- FIX: Symbian: Fix a crash when accessing the menu
- FIX: Palm: Always reset auto off timer when restoring timeout
- FIX: WinCE: More checks for the QTV detection
- FIX: WinCE: Window resizing issue when fullscreen mode changes menu and toolbar is temporarily created
- ADD: Handle the x-audio/mp3 MIME Type
- ADD: WinCE/WM: WMP Plug-ins Preferences page w/new plug-in detection scheme
- 300+ other changes

A comment on the CE/WM new WMP Plug-ins scheme.... we are creating support for all known WMP Plug-ins one at a time. So the way it works now is the if the current plug-in is supported, the box is checked by default. If it is unchecked it is detected but not supported... now you 'could' check it to see if it will work, but it 'may' cause the player to be unstable and even crash (let us know if it it does).

We hope that over the next few releases to have all the plug-ins supported.

NOTE.... I wanted to also tell you about our plans to use the term 'Infotainment' more and more as we start moving away from just a media player to more of a content aggregator. 'Infotainment' we feel best describes alot of the end goals of what we are doing with the Platform, most of which you will start to see of over next few milestone releases. But more so with our upcoming v2 skin with the addition of the built in RSS Reader and Twitter Components.

Also as many of you know... if you don't want ANY of that... we will always give you the option to turn it off... thats the beauty of modular design.

How do you get the update? Login to your reseller account at www.Mobihand.com (My Account at the top) and download the update. Handango users will need to wait till we bring online a local user account duplicator here to manage update notifications/downloads. Once completed Handango users will get the updates and notifications just like any of our other resellers.

Good to see and glad that Qtv is compliant again on 6.1 Devices. Many on XDA will thank you for this.
Looking forward to the 1.3 version, (hopefully with a hype & trendy standard skin or new UI)

Did the builds sent to Mobihand possibly get crossed? I downloaded 1.2.5 for my PocketPC and it says Coreplayer.Smartphone.cab. Also, when I try to install, it says it is not a valid WinCE Setup file.

Strange. DirectDraw seems to perform better on Tytn II official 6.1 rom. I have a 4 mins clip benchmark for 191% on DD and 180% on Qtv

June 4th here and Mobihand still has 1.2.4 for CorePlayer Pro.

I logged into my account at the Mobihand site, and I see the download link there ok. And it is the new version. But when I try to download, it runs some sort of script, then comes up with an error message "Error This file has already been downloaded".

Which of course it has not. But even it had, what is the problem? Why should I not be allowed to download a couple of times?

Any update on PXA310 acceleration support? You said in february that it would be in a 1.2.X release and now you are saying 1.2.5 is the last 1.2.X release. I bought Coreplayer based on this promise. Will I be able to download a future 1.3.X version with this in without further payment?

kgn.... send an email to: customersupport AT mobihand DOT com with the email address it was purchased with and the error you are getting.

mitchelln.... Hard to tell you whats going on because of NDA considerations.... but what I can say is that we are working on it, and as I stated earlier directly with Marvell... and as always all 1.x user are entitled to 1.x updates.

Not atm, as this was the last 1.2.x release till 1.3

Is there a current timeframe for CorePlayer 1.3? I really want the ability to DOWNLOAD podcasts over the air (not stream). This is the primary reason why I want CorePlayer.

We have stated several times here in the forums over the past few weeks that our release time frame has changed and that 1.3 is mostly a bug fix version. When will it be release? We expect it to be out as early as next week.

As far as downloads.... that _IS_ in the next major milestone version after the 1.3 reelase.
